【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscovertestsforflammabilityofpolymericmaterialsusedforpartsindevicesandappliances.Theyareintendedtoserveasapreliminaryindicationoftheiracceptabilitywithrespecttoflammabilityforaparticularapplication.1.1revisedJune2,20061.2ThemethodsdescribedinthisStandardinvolvestandardsizespecimensandareintendedtobeusedsolelytomeasureanddescribetheflammabilitypropertiesofmaterials,usedindevicesandappliances,inresponsetoasmallopenflameorradiantheatsourceundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.1.2revisedJune2,20061.2.1ThetestsintheStandardforTestsforFlammabilityofSmallPolymericComponentMaterialsshouldbeusedtoevaluatesmallcomponentswhichcontainmaterialsthatcannotbefabricatedintostandardizedspecimensintheminimumusethicknessandsubjectedtoapplicablepreselectiontestsinUL94.TestproceduresinUL1694areapplicabletosmallcomponentswithanoverallvolumeoflessthan2500mm3(0.15in3).UL1694isgenerallynotapplicabletosmallcomponentswithanoverallvolumegreaterthan2500mm3(0.15in3).1.2.1addedJune2,20061.3Thefinalacceptanceofthematerialisdependentuponitsuseincompleteequipmentthatconformswiththestandardsapplicabletosuchequipment.Theflammabilityclassificationrequiredofamaterialisdependentupontheequipmentordeviceinvolvedandtheparticularuseofthematerial.Theperformancelevelofamaterialdeterminedbythesemethodsshallnotbeassumedtocorrelatewithitsperformanceinend-useapplication.Theactualresponsetoheatandflameofmaterialsdependsuponthesizeandform,andalsoontheend-useoftheproductusingthematerial.Assessmentofotherimportantcharacteristicsintheend-useapplicationincludes,butisnotlimitedto,factorssuchaseaseofignition,burningrate,flamespread,fuelcontribution,intensityofburning,andproductsofcombustion.1.3revisedJune2,20061.4Iffoundtobeappropriate,therequirementsareappliedtoothernonmetallicmaterials.1.4revisedJune10,19971.5Thesetests,withtheexceptionoftheRadiantPanelTestinSection10,arenotapplicabletotheevaluationofpartswherethethicknessexceeds13.0mmorwherethesurfaceareaexceeds1m2.Theserequirementsdonotcoverpolymericmaterialswhenusedforbuildingconstruction,finishing,orcontentssuchaswallandfloorcoverings,furnishings,decorativeobjectsandsoforth.Inaddition,thefireresistance(intermsofanhourlyrating),flamespread,smokecharacterization,andheatreleaserateisnotevaluated.Otherfiretestsexistandshallbeusedtoevaluatetheflammabilityofmaterialsintheintendedend-use-productconfiguration.1.5revisedJune2,2006
